For You, My Beloved
from the poem Lecha Dodi by the medieval rabbi and kabbalist Shlomo Halevi Alkabetz (d.~1584). The version recorded on the album contains only the first and last two of the nine verses.
Come, my love, towards the bride of Shabbat,
Remember that we heard God through one sound.
God is one, and his name is one,
In reputation, splendor, and in glory.
Spread in all directions,
Praise God near the son of Peretz,
Rejoice and make merry.
Come in peace my bride, my crown,
With melody and joy,
Among the believers.
Come, oh bride, come.
